I had a very busy weekend, with book promotion and editing, as well as the renovations that I've been working on around home.  Evie has been a busy girl!

I also issued a promotional discount code, via Smashwords, for people to be able to download my e-book for free.  Unfortunately, unless I'm part of Amazon's exclusive KDP Select, I could not run a free weekend through them.  If I were to sign up, I'd have to remove my book from other listing sites.  That's not a choice I'm willing to make just yet, so I decided to discount through Smashwords instead  (and yes, Smashwords does have a file type which will read on Amazon Kindles!)

My promo code was used a few times to essentially give away my e-book, Extraordinary Part 1. Not as many sold as I would have liked, however, some did sell, so that's always a bonus!

Posting my e-books as a free read on Wattpad has resulted in a few positive comments, which have made my day!  I have to admit I'm still sitting in that grey zone where I'm waiting for my first negative comment... It's a bit like waiting for a hammer to fall!  However, I am pleased that so far, at least, no-one has hated it enough to say so!  And of those who love it, some have left amazing feedback.   So, if you like my book (or if you don't!) please do not hesitate to leave me a comment on my many profiles (links are available throughout the site) or here on my Comments Page.

In other news, I am hoping that the rest of my Weebly website will be live this evening.  I'm just running a few last minute link checks and, all going well, it should be up and running again!

The Site is now LIVE! :)  See you there!

Sometimes things need to change.  This is one of those times.

I have decided to overhaul the look of my webpage, which means, for the meantime, that the page is unavailable, at least, for browsing through my novels.  But what it does mean is a new colour/design scheme, and some awesome new header images, and a new set-up for samples of my novels.

I will be providing, via this site, just sample chapters of my novels, along with links to where the e-books &paperbacks can be purchased, as they become available.

However, do not worry!  I have set up Extraordinary Part 1 as a free read via Wattpad.   Please do not hesitate to go and have a read.   Membership on Wattpad (required so that you can read the books online) is free of charge, and the books are free to read as well.   The only payment I ask is that my readers please leave me feedback.

Extraordinary Part 2 is currently being posted up on Wattpad, too; however, it is only being posted as I roll through my final edit.  This means that the pages will only appear once I'm happy with them.  And that will also mean that I can get on and prepare the e-books!

My Wattpad page

Meanwhile... In Other News:

I have been busy in the social networking area.   I have arranged to have an author page set up for my writing, via Independent Author Network (a.k.a. IAN).  This site utilises a lot of the social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc) and is also a one-stop-shop for all the links that Independent Authors have for their books!

My IAN Page
I have also, finally, finalised all my Part 1 books:  They can be found (for purchase) at these sites:
Smashwords  US$2.99
Amazon  US$2.99

Standard (6" x 9" (15.24cm x 22.86cm) 450 pages )  $20.00
Large Print (7" x 10" (17.78cm x 25.4cm) 658 pages)  $23.00

And, in the meantime, I have set up discount codes for the Paperbacks and for the Smashwords e-book (which is formatted for reading on Kindle (.mobi), iPad/iBooks, Nook, Sony Reader, Kobo, and many other e-readers (.epub), PDF format, and many others).

The discount codes will bring the Paperbacks down by $5.00 per book (Standard will be $15, Large Print will be $18.00) and the e-book will drop from $2.99 to $0.99.
However, I will only be releasing the discount codes to those kind people who have provided feedback for me here on site, via Wattpad, or through my other social media sites.

As far as feedback is concerned, I don't mind what you say, as long as it is kept clean, and is constructive (i.e. it helps me write better!)  If there is something you don't like, please let me know.  If there is something you love, I want to hear about it!  Feel free to say what you think.  And also, don't feel you have to read the entire books online.  Just leave me feedback about what you have read, and I'll be happy.

I am looking forward to my improved site being opened to the public shortly.

Thank you for bearing with me!

“I'm unpredictable, I never know where I'm going until I get there, I'm so random, I'm always growing, learning, changing, I'm never the same person twice. But one thing you can be sure of about me; is I will always do exactly what I want to do.”

Everyone who works in a creative-type job, or has a creative-type hobby, needs it, or has it.

For me, it usually comes in flashes.   An image of a place, a snippet of a conversation (whether real or imagined), or a verse in a song will suddenly make the wheels in my brain turn.   I'll jump onto my laptop, and start to write.

And boy, sometimes I can WRITE!!   I'll start tapping away, and next thing I know, its six hours later, my whole day is gone, but I've written several thousand words.   Then I sleep on it.

Sometimes, its good.  Other times, I cringe, thinking, "Why on earth did I write THAT?"
The delete key is a good friend of mine.

I used to wonder how writers came up with storylines, how they created their characters, how they visualised a place, or time, and then put it down in such a way that I could "see" it when I read.   Sometimes even reading my stories, when a character has found themselves in a certain situation, I'll be reading, and laughing, and wondering how on earth I came up with it.   I mean, its often not something I could easily imagine, even if I tried.  In those circumstances I only have one word to describe what happened to cause it:

With this in mind, I've created another page here on the site, called "Evie's Inspiration".   I've put a few bits and pieces on it, lyrics from songs that inspire me and quotes that I've heard that get me thinking, and have moved me.

Now, I want to know what inspires others.   Let me know!

In other news, the writer's block was short lived (YAY!) and I've posted Chapter 4 - Alone over the weekend, and am about to post Chapter 5 - Reawakening.

If you've finished reading Extraordinary Part 1, please let me know what you think.  I would love to receive some feedback about it.

Also, feel free to follow me on Twitter, or Like my Facebook page - links are at the top of every page!

Over the weekend I was busy working on a variety of tasks, the biggest one being updating and restructuring this site.

One of the big changes is that I've set up a page called "The Novels" which you'll now find in the menu bar across the top part of the page.  That page will send you to where you can find details about the novels.  It links you to the Table of Contents for each novel that is available to read (I'm currently posting the second novel) and gives a sneak-peek at up-coming books in the Star Kin Chronicles series.   Go and check it out!

I've also updated the page headers to reflect the cover designs for the books.  Extraordinary Part 1 is now posted in full, and you'll notice that it's headers have changed.   Extraordinary Part 2 is now currently being posted.

I have put up the first two chapters (technically Prologue and Chapter 1).   The Prologue is, well, a prologue.  Chapter 1 is a bit of a rundown of what has already occurred in the Extraordinary story, bringing you up to date before you dive into Part 2 of the story.  It's also helpful for those readers who pick this book up first - I've written this one in such a way that you can read it independently, however to get the full grasp of the story, I'd recommend reading them in order.  The end of each book leads into the next - except in the case of The Secrets We Keep and Extraordinary - they are designed as a "side-by-side" read, with both of them leading into A Guardian's Love - which is Amaia's story.

And finally, I had noticed that some of the layout of Extraordinary Part 1 had gone a bit "wonky".  Why, I'm not sure, but I've gone in and realigned the paragraphs, so hopefully it makes it easier to read.

I'd love to hear what you think about the changes I've made.  In the meantime, I'm off to work on Chapter 2 of Part 2, where the story really takes off!

Hello Readers!

I have been busy over the last few days making decisions, editing manuscripts, writing some new stuff and doing research into e-publication.

I have been to-ing and fro-ing over the next book to post.  I was trying to choose between Extraordinary Part 2 and The Secrets We Keep Part 1.

Extraordinary Part 2  is of course the second half to the already posted novel on this site.  The Secrets We Keep Part 1 is the same story told from Alex's perspective, which does provide some insight into his thoughts and motives for doing what he does.  His story runs in parallel with Cassie's, however it does have some spoilers - including some plot lines and information that don't come up in Cassie's story until near the end of Extraordinary Part 2.

I have decided, based on that point alone, to post Extraordinary Part 2 as the next Novel-In-Progress on the site.  The Secrets We Keep was written in such a way that it is actually designed to read after Extraordinary, however it can also stand alone and be read without Extraordinary having been read.

For those who are planning on skipping over a "retelling of the same old story" and not read The Secrets We Keep for fear of boredom, or repetitiveness, consider this:

I have written Extraordinary in such a way that there are certain "gaps" in Cassie's knowledge/ awareness of what is happening, that can only be filled in by reading The Secrets We Keep.  It is not so obvious in the first book - mostly relating to Alex and Amaia, and how they interact,  but it becomes more obvious in the second part that Extraordinary has information "missing" that can only be filled in by reading The Secrets We Keep .

I don't mean that Extraordinary is incomplete, or missing vital information, but there are certain things that happen, that the reader hopefully puts down to Alex's mysterious nature, which become a lot clearer and are covered in more detail than in Extraordinary.

I believe reading both books together (or one after the other) will leave the reader feeling as though they have been told the full story.

Both Extraordinary and The Secrets We Keep  lead into Amaia's story:  A Guardian's Love.

So keep an eye out on my blog for updates, and anyone who follows me on Twitter or "Likes" my Facebook Page, will receive further updates and be advised as soon as I start posting Extraordinary Part 2.

In the meantime, If you've read Extraordinary Part 1, please leave feedback, or comments in the various places around the site designed for that purpose.  I have posted my novel here in order to receive feedback, so don't be shy.  If there is anything that is unclear, or that I've missed, please let me know.

Also if there is anything about the layout of the site that you think could be improved, let me know.

Anything that improves the story, or the website, I'm happy to consider and attempt to implement.   Plus, I love to hear from my readers.

Welcome to July everyone!

Random start, I know!  However a new month means some new ideas!

Firstly, in relation to the novel, Extraordinary, I have now posted up Chapter 33 - Cassie's party.  Cassie gets her surprise party, and is surprised by how many turned up.  This girl is obviously loved by many.  I think this is one of the more heartwarming chapters in this book.

In relation to the site, I have altered the Homepage slightly, and put up my Comments/Feedback page, which has a further place to leave, surprisingly enough, Comments and/or Feedback.  Please don't be shy!  I want to hear from those who are checking out my online novels, and would love to get some feedback, and comments, and... questions.

Yes, you read that right.

I want Questions!

I have decided that I will be opening up a Question & Answers part to my blog.  If I get asked a question about my novels, or me personally, or the writing/editing/publishing process, either through the site, or in my everyday life, I will post it here and answer it.

So shoot me those questions, guys!  I want to know what you want to know, so that I can answer!

Ask me about my characters, my settings, my plans for future books, or anything else you can think of, and I'll do my best to give an answer.  Of course, if you want, you could ask me a question that I probably don't know the answer to (anything relating to physics, for example... or magnets...) and see what I say.

I have been asked a question already, which I'll cover in my next blog post, so you get the idea of what I'm aiming for.  Any future blogs relating to the Questions and Answers, will be able to be found via the "Q&A" filter on the sidebar.

I look forward to hearing from you!

..Well, it can be, when you're dating a vampire.

Chapter 20 - Date Night - Revalations and Chapter 21 - Date Night - Dangerous Territory are now up.

Alex's secret is now out in the open, and Cassie is struggling to get to grips with the intricacies of dating someone so dangerous.  But is he as dangerous as he claims to be?

At this point, Cassie hasn't seen any indication of the danger that Alex claims surrounds her.  After all, he hasn't hurt her, or made her feel anything but safe, and loved.

But everything is about to change.  Dating a vampire is dangerous - especially when the attraction is electric, and, on his part at least, the sound of every heartbeat, and the scent of her blood is so enticing.  How close can these two actually get?   And what will happen when a line is crossed, a line that in any ordinary relationship, would not pose any threat?
Coming soon:

Chapter 22 - Early Saturday Morning.

Still shaken by the occurrences of the night before, Cassie has made a decision - one she doesn't really want to make, but one she knows is the only way to keep both herself, and Alex, safe.

Alex has something more to share with Cassie.  There are more secrets to be revealed, but if she does what she says she will, he won't get a chance to tell her.   Can he convince her to change her mind?

And then there is the dawn, where Alex reveals to Cassie what he truly is...

Chapter 23 - Visiting The Graysons

Cassie finally gets to visit Alex's home.  Amaia teaches Cassie something new, and Alex introduces Cassie to a couple of Charlotte's pets.

But Alex is about to reveal to Cassie the secrets involving Astra and her crystal pendant.  Questions are about to be answered, and the ultimate question asked:  Can Cassie deal with all the secrets that the Grayson Family holds?

Stay tuned... or whatever the term may be for following an online novel...

I am pleased to announce that I have just posted up the next two chapters in the Extraordinary Story.

Chapter 13 - Alex Opens Up  - where Alex reveals to Cassie more about how he really feels for her, and also reveals a bit more about himself.

Chapter 14 - Alex Meets Mrs. Stone- where Alex meets Cassie's mother, Cassie decides on a design for her crystal pendant and birthday plans and nightmares come into play.

There is still a lot to be revealed in future chapters, which will be posted as I keep up the editing on The Secrets We Keep.   Editing two chapters at a time shouldn't take as long as this last update did, but if you add me on
Facebook or Twitter, you will be updated as soon as the new chapters are up.

I know I'm getting repetitive, but please feel free to share this website with your friends and family.   And please post feedback as well!  I want to get my Comments pages started up and I can't do that without my reader's very valuable input.   It doesn't have to be a complicated review - goodness knows I'll be getting more of those as I progress through sending my query letters off to literary agents!   I'm happy even with a simple "Hello" and what you think.   Also comments about the website layout are helpful, so that I can make it easier to read or navigate around.  Whatever help you can give me I will appreciate!

The website link to share the website is:  http://evieasterwyn.weebly.com
If you copy and paste that into most emails or facebook statuses or on Twitter, the magic of the internet will automatically turn it into a link and will make my site just a click away from your own.

And, of course, links to MY Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts are at the top of each page on this site.

I hope to hear from you soon, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading the next couple of chapters.

I have been busy working away at The Secrets We Keep, and I have one chapter to go now.  Alex is about to reveal to Cassie the secret of what he is!

Then we can get onto Chapters 13 and 14 of Extraordinary.  I am so excited to share these chapters with you, and hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Coming up:  Alex reveals the true extent of his feelings for our heroine, Cassie.  However there are no revelations - yet - about the role of the crystal in her life.  That is coming soon, don't worry!

In Chapter 14, Alex meets Cassie's mother, and Cassie starts to learn about the risks of getting too close to Alex.

In the meantime, please feel free to let me know what you think of the story so far.  If there is anything that doesn't make sense, please let me know.   I will reply to the comments I receive as well, as long as the email address you provide is accurate - even if only to say thank you for commenting.  So feel free to ask/comment/critique away.  All of your feedback is what will help me improve my writing.

I look forward to hearing from you, and posting the next couple of chapters.

Hello everyone!

Finally, after spending the last few days organising the page, re-editing it as I copied it over from my manuscript, and then re-reading it about thirty times to make sure my edits made some sort of sense... I have now published Chapter 12 - An Eventful Day.  I can only imagine how long it would have taken if I was actually writing this as I posted the chapters!  The initial draft of this chapter took quite a while for me to write.

This chapter is quite pivotal to the whole story.  After untimely events place Cassie in danger, she confronts Alex about what she has discovered while researching.  Alex reveals part of his secret, and Cassie reveals her true feelings.

I hope you enjoy reading it.  Still more to come, of course, but I need to take a bit of a break and write some more/edit some more of my other manuscripts as well.

I look forward to receiving your comments so that i can put the "Comments Page" that I've prepared to good use.  There is a comment box on the Table of Contents page, or you can also comment through any of the blog "Comment" fields.
