I am a 29 year old New Zealander, who grew up in Auckland. In 2000, at the age of sixteen, I met the young man who, three years later, became my husband. We married in 2003 and soon afterwards adopted a German Shepherd puppy, the first of our "babies". In 2004 we bought our first house together. In 2006, after visiting family in a large town in the lower North Island named Palmerston North, we decided to make our move. So we sold our house and moved to a small town just outside of Palmerston North. In 2007, my husband bought me an adorable Labrador x Huntaway puppy, who has become my constant companion. He is also the inspiration for one of the characters in my novels, Astra.
My Favourite Authors
I have always been a very avid reader. I can still clearly recall the moment when, at age 5, I realised I could read. Suddenly, letters were more than just squiggly lines on a page. I do have some favourite authors, whose work I LOVE to read:
Dean Koontz - Suspense and thrills at their absolute best! A real page-turner, and I'm afraid that when I pick up one of his books, it doesn't get put down again until it is read through!
Agatha Christie - introduced to me by my mother and grandmother, the Queen of Mystery is in the top 3 of my favourite authors.
Janet Evanovich - Hilarity abounds in her books. My favourite author for laugh-out-loud moments, that have earned me some funny looks while travelling on public transport.
Dan Brown - I read Da Vinci Code one day, after a friend recommended it. I wasn't sure what to expect, however was pleased to find it a very interesting book. I then went on to read several others that were in print and have really enjoyed them.
Anne McCaffrey - my mother has always loved these books, but recently my grandfather started to lend them to me. Amazing stories, amazing world. Love them!
A picture and quote sent to me very recently in an email. This sums up very well the relationship between two of my characters.
David Bowie - particularly the songs he wrote and performed for the movie Labyrinth.
